DeSoto Independent School District 2010 Summer Programs
Citizen input is needed as a part of the revision to the Park & Recreation Master Plan
Citizen input is a very important component in the master plan process. The consultant has joined with Park Development Corporation members and staff to form a master plan team to gather that citizen input. They will be attending public events such as outdoor concerts, festivals, sporting events, and senior citizen activities looking for citizens who will answer a few questions regarding their use of current park, recreation, and trail facilities provided by the City of DeSoto. They will be soliciting feedback on what can be done to improve park, recreation, and trail facilities in DeSoto. The questionnaire will also be available in the form of an online survey which can be accessed at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DeSoto-Parks.
Entertainment Venue Feasibility Study
For some time now, the City Council has discussed opportunities for making DeSoto a destination for arts and entertainment. As a result, they placed the following item in their 2010 Work Plan:
Develop an economic feasibility study for a regional attraction entertainment venue in DeSoto.
A. Request for Qualifications in the first quarter of 2010
B. Present findings of feasibility study in third quarter of 2010
Their next step is to gauge public interest in an Entertainment Venue for DeSoto. The Projects Group would like you to submit
